Dan Staackmann-Candidate For Village President
Dan is a lifelong resident who has been active in almost every aspect of our Village over the past 35 years. He has served in elected offices, including Village President, Park District Board of Commissioners, and the Village Board of Trustees. He has also been involved in a variety of community organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Morton Grove Days President, Centennial Commission, Lions Club, Liponi Foundation Founding President. The Morton Grove Champion newspaper stated, “Staackmann’s no nonsense, no drama approach to his Trustee duties has earned our respect. He listens and he thinks before he acts.” Dan is committed to serving Morton Grove, and will bring a common sense, resident-first approach back to our Village Board.
A lifetime resident of Morton Grove, Lori has been active in numerous community organizations. She is a member of the Garden Club of Morton Grove, and a lifelong parishioner of St. Martha’s where she sings in their choir. She formerly served as treasurer of the Action party, until it was reorganized four years ago. Lori feels that now is the opportune time to once again get actively involved in the Village of Morton Grove, which has been such a constant love in her life. Lori has worked for Rotary International for 18 years, currently as Financial System Specialist. have O’Brien. She is the daughter of Jack O’Brien, the long time Electrical Inspector and a political activist in Morton Grove. She has been married to John Gattorna for 35 years.
Mark is a business consultant and marketing professional who founded his own sales and marketing company in 2008. He has been active in the Morton Grove community and currently serves as President of the Morton Grove Public Library Board of Trustees, leading the library through a much needed, extensive renovation project during his tenure, which was accomplished with no tax increase to residents. Mark also serves as a Director of the Morton Grove Chamber of Commerce and is currently its President. Mark’s approach as an elected official is to work together with all segments of our community to find common ground to better our Village. Mark has also served on the Golf School District 67 PTA, and on the Parish Council at St. Martha’s Parish. Mark has lived in Morton Grove for almost 30 years. He and his wife Carol have 2 daughters.
Jeannine M. Como, a 28-year resident of Morton Grove, has a vision of Morton Grove where families can grow, businesses can prosper, and our seniors can be happy and secure. Always involved in the community, Jeannine has been a volunteer for Morton Grove Days, a member of the Morton Grove Woman’s Club, and a member of the Holly Days committee. Jeannine has served as a Director and President of the Morton Grove Chamber of Commerce, and is currently its treasurer. Jeannine and her husband Gary have two adult children. While raising their children in Morton Grove, they enjoyed the offerings of the Morton Grove Public Library and the Morton Grove Park District. Some of the family’s fondest memories include watching fireworks on Lehigh Avenue and waiting for Santa Claus to drive through town.
Mary A. White has a BA in Economics and in Marketing. Mary works for JFZ Health Associates, LLC in Melrose Park as their clinical service Coordinator. She previously was the executive secretary for 17 years to the Chairman and CEO of Environmental Financial Products, LLC in Chicago, and was recently a staff member of Mariano’s in Glenview. Mary has been involved in Park District programs, is active in her townhome association, and is a parishioner of St. Martha’s. She looks forward to getting involved in the Village as well, and would like to work towards better coordination between residential and commercial redevelopment opportunities to balance the interests of both.
